Yes – we are not yet VAT registered and so can’t say ‘VAT included’.  The price you see on the website is the price you pay

What drivetrain brands do you service/repair/upgrade

We deal with all 3 of the major brands:  Shimano, Campagnolo and SRAM

Is there anything you don’t do?

We do not work on rear suspension units and front forks under warranty. It will usually void your warranty unless you send the item away to one of the manufacturer’s registered service centres

Will you collect my bike?

Unfortunately not. You can either bring it to us by car (parking is unrestricted and there is plenty of it).  Alternatively you can ride the bike over, and we can either work on it whilst you wait, or you can take public transport home

Do you work on all types of bike?

Yes.  We can work on road bikes, mountain bikes, track/fixed, hybrids, tandems and folding bikes.  Also kids bikes

Can you fit accessories?

Yes. We will fit whatever you like (we can even get hold of it for you). We charge according to the time it takes us (and we are pretty fast). We fit mudguards, computers, lights, bar tape, children’s seats

Do you ‘winterize’ bikes?

Yes – this is a winter service which prepares your racing, training or commuting bike for the short, dark, wet days. This includes fitting mudguards, fitting lights (or replacing batteries), cleaning your bike, degreasing the chain and applying winter lubricant, and adjust the gears & brakes. The cost is £45 (plus parts)

Do you do bike fitting for children?

Yes.  A simple fitting for a child (assuming they aren’t using cleats!) takes approx. 30-45 mins and costs £25

When I pick my bike up, how will I know what you’ve done to my bike?

You will receive a Bike Whisperer service/repair sheet which will detail exactly what we checked, adjusted, changed or lubed. We will also note if some things are partly worn and will need changing in the future. We will also note down your frame number for you so you have a record of it

If I come for a bike fitting, how will I know what changes you have made?

When you bring your bike in we carefully measure all the critical dimensions of your current set-up, and note them down on The Bike Whisperer fitting sheet. As the fitting progresses we write down the new measurements. At the end of the session we give you a copy and keep a copy. This means that we can refer to this in future if you want another bike set up in a similar way, or if you want to make further changes to your set-up

How long will it take to service my bike?

We can usually service your bike in a day. However, if any parts need to be ordered it may take up to 3 days

Where is the best place to park if I am coming to you?

You can usually park right outside. There are no parking restrictions, so as long as you don’t park on the pavement you will be fine. If you are coming by public transport, the E2 or E9 buses from Ealing Broadway station stop very nearby

I’d like a really good bike, but I can’t afford it: what should I do?

Fit is the most important thing. We would advise you to buy second-hand bike or frame that is the right size for you (we can help if you like), and then upgrade components whenever you can afford to. Often the best upgrade is to improve the wheels – and we can help with that too

How do I choose a bike helmet?

Different manufacturers make helmets of slightly different shapes – so try on several before you buy. We can help you make your selection and fit the helmet if you like. The helmet should fit fairly low down on your forehead (like a baseball cap), and the straps should be adjusted so it won’t come off your head if you fall
