Wheel Building

After a phone or email discussion with you we will recommend a wheel prescription for you. This will be based on your weight, what you want the wheels for, and your budget.

• We can make you beautiful hand built wheels that are lighter, stronger and cheaper (but never all three!) than most machine built wheels
• We can build you strong touring wheels that won’t leave you stranded
• We can build you light, strong, aerodynamic racing wheels
• We can build you wheels which incorporate a PowerTap hub so you can train with power. We can source PowerTap hubs at a competitive price and we only build with hubs we have supplied. We can supply just the hub for the wheel, or the head unit and heart strap as well.
• We can build tubulars for the track, and glue on tyres for you.

Hubs – we use Shimano, Campagnolo, American Classic, Royce, Phil Wood, Novatec

Rims – we use Zipp, Mavic, Ambrosio, DT Swiss, American Classic, Fast Forward, Citec

Spokes – we use silver, double-butted stainless spokes – but can build with bladed spokes etc.

Cost (labour)

• Pair (if we supply parts): £100 (£55 for a single wheel)
• Build/re-build single wheel: £50
• Gluing tubulars: £30 (per wheel) – we can supply the tubulars. We use only tubular glue, not tape.
